I recently did a guest post for Culturewithtravel.com on visiting Europe and how to deal with language barriers when traveling. Check it out! Thank you again for Nicolette and Culture With Travel!
Since returning from Europe, I have been seriously slacking on my travel writing. Two reasons:
If I am traveling somewhere solo for the first time, I prefer to do tours to get to know my surroundings. Who am I kidding; I prefer to find the closest bar. But after that, I like to get to know the city i’m in.
I knew when I first booked my trip to Europe that I wanted to sleep in a hostel at least one night. It’s been on my bucket list forever! I researched hostels pretty extensively beforehand, especially because I’ve seen the lovely movie Hostel, and because I’ve heard of every hostel horror story there is (see also: Bed bugs). I also was going to be staying in one alone. After being highly recommended by the Twitter account @HostelWorld, I decided to book my stay at Clink78.
First things first, I have no idea how I ate so much food for 12 days in Europe and I didn’t gain a pound. I ate EVERYTHING! For once my slow metabolism gave me a break.
I visited London, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, and Denmark while in Europe and these were the best items I ate. #IHeartCarbs
